On the Diffuse Interface Models for High Codimension Dispersed Inclusions

چکیده
Diffuse interface models are widely used to describe the evolution of multi-phase systems various natures. Dispersed inclusions described by these usually three-dimensional (3D) objects characterized phase field distribution. When employed elastic fracture evolution, dispersed elements effectively two-dimensional (2D) objects. An example model with one-dimensional (1D) is a for electric breakdown in solids. Any diffuse defined an appropriate free energy functional, which depends on and its derivatives. In this work we show that codimension significantly restricts functional dependency derivatives problem state variables. It shown 2 objects, necessarily higher order or needs additional smoothness solution, i.e., first should be integrable power greater than two. Numerical experiments presented support our theoretical discussion.

Multiclass Diffuse Interface Models for Semi-supervised Learning on Graphs
We present a graph-based variational algorithm for multiclass classification of high-dimensional data, motivated by total variation techniques. The energy functional is based on a diffuse interface model with a periodic potential. We augment the model by introducing an alternative measure of smoothness that preserves symmetry among the class labels. Through this modification of the standard Lap...
متن کاملDiffuse Interface Models on Graphs for Classification of High Dimensional Data
This paper is a republication of an MMS paper [A. L. Bertozzi and A. Flenner, Multiscale Model. Simul., 10 (2012), pp. 1090–1118] describing a new class of algorithms for classification of high dimensional data. These methods combine ideas from spectral methods on graphs with nonlinear edge/region detection methods traditionally used in the PDE-based imaging community. The algorithms use the Gi...
متن کاملOn sharp interface limits for diffuse interface models for two-phase flows
We discuss the sharp interface limit of a diffuse interface model for a two-phase flow of two partly miscible viscous Newtonian fluids of different densities, when a certain parameter " > 0 related to the interface thickness tends to zero. In the case that the mobility stays positive or tends to zero slower than linearly in "we will prove that weak solutions tend to varifold solutions of a corr...

متن کاملOn diffuse-interface modeling of high-pressure transcritical fuel sprays
At subcritical pressures, atomization devices in chemical-propulsion systems must ensure proper rupture of the liquid volume through aerodynamic shearing and homogeneous dispersion of the liquid droplets in the combustion chamber. The gas environment in the combustor is typically hot as a result of the heat released by chemical reactions, with part of its enthalpy being employed in vaporizing t...
